I am creating a library of sounds on video so that the members of Silencer Research can have a better understanding of what any given dB rating sounds like.  Most people will find the videos of things they have already heard to be the most beneficial.  Most people have heard a BB Gun and a lot of people have heard a paintball gun.  Video gives NO CLEAR definition of impulse sound, so this is only a guide, but offers more than just a sound clip or poor quality sound like free video sites around the net.  I encourage you to watch these videos and listen to them with high quality earphones/headphones and turn up the volume so you can hear them well.

Each video is coupled with a small inset window with video of a properly calibrated B&K 2209 sound meter set up to Mil-Std 1474D.  When the gun fires, you will be able to read the sound meter yourself and equate the sound shown on the meter with what you hear on the video.  I want to stress that video gives no clear and complete representation of sound.
